Learning outcomes
● Use modelling methods and experimental research methods to study in detail the heat and mass transfer, hydraulic and other processes that occur in technological equipment and facilities of power engineering.● Perform research in the field of power engineering, select and apply modern technologies, tools and research methods, argue conclusions, and provide practical recommendations based on research results.
Module 1.
Content module 1: Methods of testing internal combustion engines.
Topic 1: Purpose and types of tests of internal combustion engines. Conducting tests.
Topic 2. Requirements for measuring instruments and measurement accuracy. Processing and analysis of experimental data.
Content module 2: Determination of the parameters of the internal combustion engine.
Topic 3: Determination of power and speed of an internal combustion engine.
Topic 4. Measurement of pressure, temperature and flow.
Topic 5. Determination of toxicity and smoke of internal combustion engines.
Topic 6: Determination of noise, vibration and wear of engine parts.
Content module 3: Study of the working process in the engine cylinder.
Topic 7. Types of indicators and requirements for them.
Topic 8: Processing of indicator diagrams.
Laboratory work №1. Study of measuring equipment used for the study of internal combustion engines. Acquisition of skills to work with them.
Laboratory work №2. Determination of the characteristics of an internal combustion engine.
Laboratory work №3. Determination of fuel and air consumption in internal combustion engine systems in different operating modes.
Laboratory work №4. Removing the indicator diagram of the engine.
Laboratory work №5. Processing the indicator diagram and determining the indicator indicators of the engine.
The achievements of the applicant are assessed according to the 100-point system of the University.
