General information

Acquired competences

● ability to solve research and/or innovation problems in the field of power engineering;● ability to search, process and analyze information from different sources;● ability to communicate with representatives of other professional groups of different levels (with experts from other fields of knowledge/types of economic activity).

Learning outcomes

● to communicate freely in the state and foreign languages orally and in writing to discuss professional problems and the results of research and innovation;● present the results of research and innovation, clearly and unambiguously convey their own knowledge, conclusions and arguments to specialists and non-specialists.

Contents

Production excursions are conducted with the aim of more in-depth acquaintance with internal combustion engines by studying them at the place of production, maintenance, diagnostics, repair or installation, as well as acquaintance with enterprises performing these works. Excursions are organized for the whole group of applicants for education by the head from the practice base with the involvement of leading specialists.

The individual task is a means of consolidating the skills of practical use of theoretical knowledge and work with special literature and technical materials, and also serves to expand the technical outlook and develop creative initiative in solving current production problems.

An individual task provides for an overview of the state and generalization of data on a certain issue from the field of special training, as well as the study or development of a certain element or process in internal combustion engines. Individual tasks are issued to applicants for education by the head of industrial practice from the university and are agreed with the head from the practice base.

When selecting material for qualification work, it is necessary to use both materials of completed qualification works and materials of technical information rooms of the practice base, as well as libraries of the practice base and specialized information resources available on the Internet. Selecting technical materials for the qualification work should accurately indicate the sources in the form of a bibliographic reference. The source must be included in the list of literature, which is given in the calculation and explanatory note of the qualification work, as well as in the report on production practice. Extracts, sketches, drawings from selected materials are included in the report on production practice, and then, if necessary, are used in the qualification work.

During the period of production practice, leading employees of the practice base can conduct seminars with applicants for education on special issues, as well as on labor protection, economics, organization of labor and production, management, engineering psychology, environmental protection, legal and other issues. The content of these classes is previously agreed by the head of practice from the practice base with a representative of the university.

Reporting requirements

To complete the industrial practice program, applicants for education need to complete an individual task and prepare and protect a report. The report is compiled by each applicant for education independently and should include the following main sections: Introduction; General characteristics of the practice base; Individual task; Program and methods of calculation or experimental research; Research results: graphs, tables and diagrams based on the results of research data processing; Occupational safety issues; Conclusions and proposals; List of used literature. In addition to the listed sections, the applicant for education, with the consent of the head, may include other sections in the report.

The report should not exceed 50 pages of printed text. The report is illustrated by diagrams, graphs, drawings, forms of documents, etc. The report is drawn up in accordance with the requirements of the ESKD "General requirements for text documents" (DOST 2.105-95), which was put into effect with 01.11.2007 as the state standard of Ukraine by order No. 173 of the State Committee of Ukraine on Technical Regulation and Consumer Policy of 01.08.2007.

Upon completion of the period of industrial practice, applicants for education report on the implementation of the program and individual tasks. The form of reporting of the applicant for education for industrial practice is the submission of a written report signed and evaluated directly by the head from the practice base.

The written report, together with other documents determined by the educational institution, is submitted for review to the head of industrial practice from the university. Applicants who have fulfilled the requirements of the practice program are allowed to protect reports on production practice.

The report on industrial practice is protected by the applicant for education in the commission appointed by the head of the department. The commission consists of the head of industrial practice from the university and, if possible, from the base of practice, as well as the teachers of the department, who taught special training disciplines to applicants for education.

The Commission accepts credit from applicants for education within the first ten days after the completion of industrial practice. An assessment for practical training is entered into the examination list of semester control and the individual curriculum of the applicant for higher education.

Criteria for evaluating the results of production practice

Evaluation of the results of production practice is carried out by experts. The score is calculated as the sum of points based on the results of the individual task, the design of the report and its protection.
The achievements of the applicant are evaluated according to the 100-point system of the University.
