Acquired competences
Acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge of the peculiarities of marine diesel engines under various operating conditions, engine condition and the impact of external factors.
Learning outcomes
● knowledge of the peculiarities of the operation of the MPP in different operating modes;● ability to calculate the parameters of ship's ICE operation in steady-state, unsteady-state and emergency modes of operation.

Content module 1: Characteristics of marine internal combustion engines.
Topic 1: Classification of marine engine characteristics.
Topic 2. Calculation of the screw characteristics of marine internal combustion engines.
Topic 3. Combining helical characteristics with the field of selection of operating parameters of marine internal combustion engines.
Topic 4. Calculation of screw characteristics under operating conditions.
Content module 2. Modes of operation of marine diesel engines.
Topic 5. Steady-state modes of operation of the DPU.
Topic 6. Unsteady-state modes of operation of the DPU.
Topic 7. Emergency modes of operation of the SRU.
Topic 8. Modes of operation of the SRS on the adjustable pitch screw.
